Teacher Education Programs

The Woodring College of Education, Teacher Education Programs consist of the Elementary, Secondary and Special Education Departments.  The Elementary Education undergraduate or post-baccalaureate programs lead to a recommendation for a teaching certificate with a K-8 Elementary Education endorsement.  The Secondary Education programs offer professional education sequences which lead to recommendations for teacher certification via undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or graduate studies.  The Special Education program offers two general degrees, Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Education in Special Education, with additional endorsements available in several areas.  To find out more about the individual program offerings, click on the departmental links below.

  WEST-B Entrance Exam

To learn more about the Washington Educator's Skills Test - Basic, an entrance exam required by state law of all teacher education applicants in Washington State, visit the WEST-B page.

 

  WEST-E Exam

For requirements on the Washington Educator's Skills Test - Endorsement, a subject knowledge exam that must be passed before commencing student teaching, visit the WEST-E Test Resource Site.
