Early Childhood Education
What have you found engaging, challenging, or satisfying about teaching so far?
Teaching is such a rewarding
experience. Woodring has given me the necessary tools to become
a successful educator. What I have found engaging are definitely
all the core classes, although challenging at times, the
professors definitely make it very engaging and help you get
through with nothing but success. As previously mentioned, the
classwork at times can get overwhelming, especially when there
is more than one class being taken, but I have learned to use
each class as a resource for the next class. The practicums are
always fun too, this is when you really apply everything you
have learned.
BACKGROUND:
I was born and raised in Redwood City, Ca. The Navy life brought me to the state of Washington, and it has been a decision that I have and will never regret. I always wanted to be a teacher, whether it was teaching computer science, music or creative arts, education was the career I knew I would end up in. Having had nothing but the best teachers in elementary and high school helped me confirm my love for teaching. It is because of them I have continued in the field of education.
INTERESTS:
A few of the things that I enjoy are…
spending time with my husband, when he is NOT deployed, arts and
crafts, taking long walks with my 3 month old son.
