Distance Education

What are distance education courses like?

Selected Continuing and College Education courses are offered through distance education.  These courses use a combination of mediums to make them an exciting and flexible learning alternative.   Distance education allows students to "attend class" at their own time preference.  These courses typically use video/audio taped lectures, website links, power point presentations and printed materials through a "Blackboard" site.  Students become group leaders and engage class members and instructors in lively discussions and debates.  The latest technology tools are included to make the distance education classes as exciting and interactive as possible.

These courses have at least one face-to-face meeting.  Distance education courses often feature local, national and international guest "presenters" who otherwise would not be able to travel to campus.  This additional expertise helps to enrich the Continuing and College Education program.
