  2. It is recommended that you have most, if not all, of your GURs (General University Requirements) before entering our program.  Click on the Recommended General University Requirements and Experiences for Elementary Students.
  3. For community college students planning to apply, see "Community College Students--Elementary Education/Academic Majors".
  4. Elementary Education/Early Childhood Application Form- Read the application carefully and provide all materials requested.  Specific application questions can be sent to the Elementary Education office by using the email box at the bottom of this page: Elementary Education - Frequently Asked Questions.  Applications may be dropped off at Teacher Admissions in MH 206 or mail to:

  5. Proctored Essay- Dates and times to complete the application essay on campus are in the box below.  The essay will take one hour or less to complete and registration is not required.  Bring paper and pencil (lined or unlined) and blue or black ink pens with you.  The only resource you may bring is a dictionary.  You may turn in your application prior to to writing the essay.  Students attending other colleges who are unable to come to WWU's campus to complete the essay at the scheduled times must arrange with the testing center or an advisor at their current college to have the essay proctored there.  The proctor should contact Gretchen Anderson (gretchen.anderson@wwu.edu) directly for details.
