Human Services and Veterans
Are you a Veteran?
Why Veterans
major in Human Services at Western!
"As a Veteran myself, I have noticed
the sentiment among us that we are not satisfied with the
current status of the society we fought for and now live in. The
Human Services Program can teach us how to effectively influence
change throughout all levels of our society. It gave me new
professional skills and allowed me to apply my education before
graduation, giving me an upper hand entering the workforce. If
you are interested in continuing service to your country and
community, consider the Human Services major!
Chris Brown, Human Services Senior
Iraq/Afghanistan Veteran & Purple Heart
recipient
(USMC Infantry '04-'08)
"Western and the Human Services
Program are a safe place for veterans. Some students voiced they
did not like the war but that did not mean in any shape or form
that they did not support veterans. The Human Services Program
has given me the experiences, knowledge, confidence, and tools I
need to succeed in helping my community.
Stephanie Morgareidge, Human
Services Senior
Iraq Veteran
(US Army Supply Clerk ’02-‘05)
"The Human Services Program helped me in a
multitude of ways. It opened my eyes to more than I anticipated
and helped me become a better partner, friend, and more
appreciative of everything that I have in my life. Human
Services showed me that there is more than one way to
communicate and to remember to look at the picture from every
angle possible."
Quentin Irion, Human Services
