 Making a Difference - with PEOPLE - in Communities

 

The Department of Human Services & Rehabilitation consists of two academic programs.

 

 

Human Services - Offering a Bachelors of Arts, the program is designed to meet national standards in human services education (www.cshse.org).

Human Services professionals work in a variety of settings, working to enhance the well being of individuals, groups, communities, and society and to be a proactive force in:

  • creating systems that benefit the human experience
  • sustaining systems that improve the human condition
  • changing systems no longer benefiting people

 
 
 

Rehabilitation Counseling - Offering a Masters of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling, the program prepares rehabilitation professionals to assist individuals with disabilities enhance their lives in important ways, including self-determination, independence, meaningful employment, and full community participation.  The program is fully accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (www.core-rehab.org).

Rehabilitation Counseling focuses on the whole person, including family, work and social relationships as well as physical and psychological aspects.
