WINTER 2001

Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and effective educators for a diverse society

Congratulations From President Karen Morse

It gives me the greatest pleasure to congratulate Woodring upon its continuing accreditation at the initial teacher preparation and advanced levels by NCATE. The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is an independent agency that monitors excellence in teacher education at the national level. Renewed accreditation requires an exhaustive self-study and attainment of a demonstrable high level of professionalism.

NCATE accreditation ensures students of rigorous training at a school that adheres to nationally endorsed stan-dards. It informs potential students, parents and educators that Woodring College of Education has met the challenge of exhaustive review by the NCATE Board of Examiners and has earned the Council's endorsement.

This success does not mean that we can relax and rest on our laurels. It means that we are well positioned to strive even higher in maintaining a curriculum that graduates skilled teachers who are ready to serve the community in its elementary and secondary schools.

I extend congratulations on a job well done, and am confident of your continued success.

Sincerely,

Karen W. Morse

President
