Policies and Procedures

bullet The E-ATRC has been implemented for use as a resource for future educators, especially in the area of Special Education.  We invite you to stop by during our hours of operation to find out about the technology items and software we have available.
bullet Our staff will be happy to give you a general orientation of the technology that we have, as well as an orientation of any specific area you are interested in.
bullet The E-ATRC allows most of the items we have to be checked out by students or staff with a valid current Western ID .  See below for check-out procedures.

Check-Out Procedures

Students:

bullet You are welcome to check-out items for use in any of your practica or student teaching.  We also allow you to check out laptops and specific software to try out at home, so you can decide if that particular software would be useful in your own classroom.
bullet Before checking an item out from the E-ATRC, you must stop by and pick up a quarterly verification card during our hours of operation.  The card must be filled out by you and signed by the professor or instructor in charge of your class, practicum, or student teaching.
bullet Once we have your quarterly verification card, we will give you a brief (15 - 20 minute) orientation of the E-ATRC.
bullet We will enter your information into our database, which will enable to you to check out items during  that quarter.  (You only need to have the verification card signed once per quarter).
bullet

Most items can be checked out for two weeks, with exception of the laptops, which can be checked out for one week.

Faculty:

bullet

We invite you to come to the E-ATRC and receive a general orientation.

bullet

We will then enter your information into our database, which will enable you to check items out for demonstration and exploration in your classes.

bullet

Items are due back in two weeks, with the exception of a few special items, which are due in one week.
