AT Road Show
Purpose:
The intended purpose of the E-ATRC Assistive Technology Road Show is to raise the awareness level of P-12 educators about the range of assistive technology tools available to help students with learning differences.
Format:
The format of the AT Road Show is a 20-30 minute presentation to a group (such as educators at a school faculty/staff meeting) which includes a brief PowerPoint slideshow entitled The E-ATRC Road Show and a ‘show and tell’ of various tools to support learners in tasks related to reading, writing, math and self-management. (Visit the PowerPoint Showcase page for a list of slideshows.)
Process:
Presentation of the AT Road Show requires the following:
- A screen to project on and either an LCD projector (that I can plug my laptop into) or an overhead projector to show my PowerPoint slides – just let me know which, so I am appropriately prepared.
- Some table or shelf space to set out items and tools for people to see during the ‘show and tell’. This could just be the tables where people are sitting if that will work.
- Note: You may choose to schedule the Road Show for the last part of your regularly scheduled meeting, so that interested persons may stay for some added hands-on time with the tools.
