Lynda Spaulding, co-coordinator
Lynda is in her 2nd year working for CEED. Many years ago, she started her career as a social worker on the Blackfeet reservation in Montana. The experience was profound and has helped guide her work and life today. She has spent much of he adult life as a social worker working in several western states. Social justice, along with fishing, crabbing and the arts are a few of her passions. She is a graduate student in the Continuing and College Education Program and hopes to incorporate what she learns in the Center into my studies in the CCE program. Lynda has two young adult daughters, a loving partner and a good dog Moe. She looks forward to contributing to and learning from the Center more this year.
Jeremy Anhalt, co-coordinator
Jeremy is in his first year at WWU as a graduate student in Secondary Education with endorsements in general science and biology. Originally from Iowa, Jeremy is a veteran of the US Navy, a graduate of Iowa State University, and has worked several years as an aquatic biologist for the federal government in California, Oregon, and Washington. But the greatest asset that Jeremy brings to CEED is his empathy for immigrant issues after having lived and worked in Honduras for 2+ years. As a Peace Corps Volunteer living in a small mountain village within a national park, he assisted the community in many tasks including environmental education, community development, eco-tourism promotion, and coaching little league baseball, among many others. He credits this amazing experience for truly broadening his cultural horizons, which in addition to his travels around the world, he hopes to utilize and build on at CEED.
