Digital Fingerprinting

 1.     In Bellingham you can have your fingerprints done digitally at the WWU Campus Police or the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.  For digital prints in Bellingham you must stop by the Teacher Certification Office, Miller Hall 216, between 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday to get an Electronic Fingerprint form.

a.   Have a check ready; made out to Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for $60.25.

b.   Bring your check to Miller Hall 216.  You will need about 5 minutes to fill out the Electronic Fingerprint Application.

c.   Call the WWU Campus Police: Cindi Schwemmin at (360) 650-3579 to schedule an appointment, of plan to drop by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham, Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. or Thursdays 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Either agency charges $10 for prints.

d.   Turn in your fingerprinting service fee receipt with name and student ID noted, to the Teacher Certification Office (Miller Hall 216.)

2.      You may complete the digital fingerprint process at one of the Educational Services District (ESD) locations listed below.  Please contact the ESD for information regarding cost and to schedule your fingerprinting appointment.

       Turn in your fingerprinting service fee receipt with name and student ID noted, to the Teacher Certification Office (Miller Hall 216,) or your Outreach Program Coordinator, or mail it to WWU - Teacher Certification, 516 High Street, Bellingham, WA  98225-9088C

3.    It is possible to have your fingerprints processed electronically at the Washington State Patrol office in Olympia. You will need a Request for Electronic Applicant Submission form from OSPI or an ESD or the WWU Teacher Certification Office.  Complete the form, enclose the fee and return the form to OSPI, or the ESD or WWU Teacher Certification Office.  It will be processed and returned to you.  Take the processed form to your fingerprinting appointment at the Washington State Patrol office in Olympia.
