I AM
by Matt Lackey
I AM SMALL AND WEAK
I WONDER WHERE I'LL GO
I HEAR THE GESTAPOS SAY "COME ABOARD"
I SEE MYSELF IN A NEW PLACE
I WANT TO BE FREE
I AM SMALL AND I AM WEAK
I PRETEND TO PLAY
I FEEL MY FACE
I TOUCH THE GROUND
I WORRY I WON'T LEAVE
I CRY WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT
I AM SMALL AND WEAK
I UNDERSTAND IT'LL BE LONG UNTIL THE DAY COMES ALONG
I SAY I CAN'T
I DREAM TO MAKE IT
I TRY MY HARDEST
I HOPE I WILL
I AM SMALL AND WEAK
Another Day & Another Day
by James Gomez
Another day and another day
it goes on and on. Father and
don't know when it's going to
end. Hoping that someday
it will end. I wonder at night
when we will be set free. It's hard
to go on but we will go on to the end
of this...

I listened at the terrible sounds of the shooting and shelling, coming in all directions. In my mind I thought the world was going to end. The Nazis surrounded us. My parents were told to dig graves. Graves, that they didn't know would become their own. We watched as they were shot one by one. They laid lifeless in a pool of the blood, with terror still on their faces. All I could think of was death. When they left, my brother went back to the fields to see what happened. Hew saw our parents laying lifeless. He ran. I stayed until it became completely dark. I went back everyday, and everyday I saw more death. Gentile workers came and covered my parents who were among the many dead.
