Dreams

As we sleep, we dream.
We dream of freedom, love
And someone to hold.
Someone to tell our deepest thoughts to.
As we wait for our freedom to come to every man and woman,
We dream of God’s love to all.
Us, all to be set free someday, somehow.

Though many will die of
Guns
Sickness
Sadness
Or just a broken heart,

Most of the millions will go with God.

Some set free to go home
To what’s left of their homes and towns.

But as you know you are always free to dream.
People can’t stop sleep.
A daydream, a night dream or a simple happy thought.
No one but yourself can do harm like that.

From the author:  “In my poem, I believe I used empathy.”
