Holocaust Poetry

Alone in the Ghetto

The ghettos scream a lonely fate
To trap a Jew from her fate.

Hitler’s power is extreme
He and his hateful team.

They trap religions so true
So pure
But anyone can hear
That they are not as they seem
They have prejudice
Hitler and his team.

This lonely life, I have
A lonely life,
It is too bad because we’ll never know
Between my friends and I
Who won at Dreidel.

I miss my sister in her cradle.

Jessica R.
6th grade

From the author:  “I used rhyme because to me if a poem does not rhyme then it’s not fun to read or recite and I wanted mine to be fun but get my point across.”
