Professional Development Resource Center
The Woodring College of Education Professional Development Resource Center (PDRC) serves as a clearinghouse by matching requests for professional development assistance with Western Washington University expertise and resources. The Center builds on our strong tradition of collaborative partnerships and supports our mission to serve schools and community and human service agencies by providing high-quality and coherent professional development for educators and human services professionals.
Examples of possible resources and supports:
-
Teacher professional development through workshops or courses on ESL, special education, assessment, mathematics and literacy instruction, and technology integration
-
Principal professional development via leadership symposia and workshops on topics related to standards-based education, assessment, and school improvement
-
Professional development workshops and courses for human services professionals in the areas of community networking, grant-writing, and family support principles
The Professional Development Resource Center is administered by a director and .5 grant-funded support staff position. A Center Advisory Board comprised of representatives from each Woodring College of Education department and Extended Education and Summer Programs serves as a review and advisory body.
