Read Across America

March 2, 2007

This year was a huge success! To Celebrate Dr. Seuss's 50th birthday, 130 Western Washington University students, faculty, and community members went into 13 Bellingham Elementary schools to promote literacy. For more information click here.

 

Spring Conference

Starting Off On The Right Foot

The Spring Conference offers resources for students interested in becoming educators. We are organizing 3 workshops of highly qualified speakers to provide information and advice for future teachers. Workshops will be 50 minutes long and have snacks in between speakers. Come for one or all!

4:00 - 4:50 : Getting Your Foot In The Door: Principals' Panel On Hiring- Find out what principals and hiring committees are looking for!

5:00 - 5:50 : Staying On Your Toes: by Carna Nelson - Advice on classroom management from one of Western Washington University's experts.

6:00 - 6:50 : Getting Your Feet Wet: Teachers' Panel - A panel of first year teachers and substitutes are available to answer questions from the audience on what to expect in your first year of teaching.

This is a great opportunity for any prospective teacher! Hope to see you there!
