Toots fought a brave and gallant fight against brain cancer for four years, succumbing to the disease in November, 1985. She had just turned 40 in August, 1985.
The scholarship in her name, is to assist Woodring College of Education students in the Secondary Education program, who are beginning their internship term during the 2009-2010 academic year.
