This program meets Washington State requirements for a supporting
endorsement in teaching ESL. There is a great need for trained instructors
in our school systems, and many teachers find that a supporting endorsement
in ESL expands their job opportunities. Teachers and future teachers
can apply to add this endorsement if they have completed a primary
endorsement in another field of study. If you would like more
information on becoming a certified teacher go to the
Woodring Teacher Certification
page.
If you have already taken classes towards meeting the Washington
State ESL endorsement, you may be able to complete the requirements
by taking individual courses through Western's TESOL Program. The
TESOL
Director is available to assist you in reviewing your endorsement
coursework and after successful completion of the endorsement requirements
can provide verification to the Office of the Superintendent of Public
Instruction.
