In partnership with Sustainable North Carolina this conference is offering a special, two-day tradeshow: “Sustainable Solutions Expo: Green Solutions for Campuses, Businesses and Institutions.”

31 March to 4 April 2008: The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali
The Conference, hosted by the Government of Indonesia, took place at the Bali International Convention Centre and brought together more than 10,000 participants, including representatives of over 180 countries together with observers from intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations and the media. The conference culminated in the adoption of the Bali Roadmap, which consists of a number of forward-looking decisions that represent the various tracks that are essential to reaching a secure climate future.

 

Oslo, 10 December 07: The IPCC is honored with the Nobel Peace Prize  - The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. were awarded of the Nobel Peace Prize "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change".

April 2007: Woodring Sustainability Committee convenesThe Woodring College of Education Administrative Council authorized the formation of the Woodring Sustainability Committee. Sustainable Oregon Schools (SOS) Initiative:
The goal of the Sustainable Oregon Schools (SOS) Initiative is to move Oregon’s K-12 school districts and their schools toward a comprehensive state of sustainability, guided internally by a system for its implementation and management, and supported externally by resources from a permanent statewide program. It aims to prepare the coming generation to successfully manage and even reverse current trends, while helping schools to better manage these priorities now.
