The Washington Green Schools (WAGS) project was awarded a Washington State Department of Ecology grant for the purpose of developing a voluntary statewide program that would support all schools in resource conservation and pollution prevention, while engaging students in sustainable environmental practices. Our vision is that all Washington schools practice resource conservation and toxics reduction; and provide a climate where students are engaged to become environmental stewards. Thus, our mission is to provide the tools and support needed to: operate environmentally efficient and responsible facilities; and integrate an environmental focus both inside and outside the classroom.
