Sustaining A Desire to Know and Make Change: Non-Fiction Reading Strategies Using Stories from YES! Magazine
Here’s a great combination: teaching your students nonfiction reading strategies AND having them read and write about issues that matter. In this dynamic 90-minute workshop, we’ll look at stories and articles on sustainability from YES! Magazine and show participants how to use writing and questioning strategies to develop a learner’s deeper understanding. Participants will walk away with powerful, ACTIVE teaching tools that incorporate asking questions, inferring, making connections, and helping learners track what’s important.
