"Two Step Process"
Step 1: Assigning Delegate Permissions
Outlook 2000 & OutlookXP
- From
the Outlook client, choose Tools, then Options.
- Click
on the Delegates tab at the top.
- Click
on the Add button.
- Type a
name or select the group or person from the list you would like to be your
delegate.
- Click
on the Add button.
- Click
on the OK button.
- Use
the drop down lists next to each Outlook component to set the access you
want to give to the delegate.
- Leave
the check in the Delegate receives copies of meeting-related messages
sent to me check box if this is what you would like.
- Click
on the OK button.
- Check
the Send meetings requests and responses only to my delegates and not
to me check box if this is what you would like.
- Click
on the OK button.
Step 2: Changing Folder Permissions
Outlook 2000 & OutlookXP
- From
the Outlook client, right-click Outlook Today, from either
the ‘Folder List’ or from the ‘Outlook Bar’, and click on Properties.
Note: Adding visible permissions to your Outlook
Today folder allows that group or individual to add your Mail folders as a
service, displayed in their folder list.
- Click
on the Permissions tab at the top.
- Click
on the Add button.
- Type
the name or select the group or person from the list of people you would
like to give permissions.
- Click
on the Add button.
- Click
on the OK button.
- Select
the person in the Name list.
- Set
the Permission area by selecting from the Roles list or by
checking the boxes that apply.
- Click
on the OK button.
Macintosh:
1. Open Outlook
2. Open "Inbox"
3. File -- Properties --
Permissions Tab
4. Select "Editor"
