"Two Step Process"

Step 1:  Assigning Delegate Permissions 

Outlook 2000 & OutlookXP

  1. From the Outlook client, choose Tools, then Options.
  2. Click on the Delegates tab at the top.
  3. Click on the Add button.
  4. Type a name or select the group or person from the list you would like to be your delegate.
  5. Click on the Add button.
  6. Click on the OK button.
  7. Use the drop down lists next to each Outlook component to set the access you want to give to the delegate.
  8. Leave the check in the Delegate receives copies of meeting-related messages sent to me check box if this is what you would like.
  9. Click on the OK button.
  10. Check the Send meetings requests and responses only to my delegates and not to me check box if this is what you would like.
  11. Click on the OK button.

 

Step 2: Changing Folder Permissions

Outlook 2000 & OutlookXP

  1. From the Outlook client, right-click Outlook Today, from either the ‘Folder List’ or from the ‘Outlook Bar’, and click on Properties.

 

Note:  Adding visible permissions to your Outlook Today folder allows that group or individual to add your Mail folders as a service, displayed in their folder list.

 

  1. Click on the Permissions tab at the top.
  2. Click on the Add button.
  3. Type the name or select the group or person from the list of people you would like to give permissions.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Click on the OK button.
  6. Select the person in the Name list.
  7. Set the Permission area by selecting from the Roles list or by checking the boxes that apply.
  8. Click on the OK button.

Macintosh:

   1.  Open Outlook

   2.  Open "Inbox"

   3.  File  --  Properties  --  Permissions Tab

   4.  Select "Editor"
