Web Page Guidelines

To facilitate a consistent user interface, easy site maintenance and logical, consistent organization:

• all pages use the WWU/Woodring header and footer
• all pages use the WWU/Woodring CSS style sheet for consistent colors, elements and fonts
• all sites use an images folder to store graphics and photos
• all pages use templates (provided in a templates folder)
  • template includes WWU/Woodring header, footer and style sheet
  • template includes site navigation (left column) and links (optional right column) files (located in the includes folder)
  • template includes Woodring search, motto and page updated feature
  • copy template files to create new pages
• all pages should provide a title element to facilitate searching
• do not use hyperlink color for any text except hyperlinks
• use 72 dpi for graphics
• use .jpg format for photos, .gif format for graphics
• sites with PDF files should store them in a folder named forms or docs
• file names should not include spaces, underlines or periods
